The Music Generalist features Panda Conspiracy!

This is pretty cool. A random dude named Nick walked up to me on the street out front of the Comet before our show and asked if he could review Panda for his blog. . . Of corse I said yes! But I have to admit. . 99% of the things people tell a band at their shows are total bullshit. This time we were pleasantly surprised when we got a message on our facebook page from Nick! Check out the Music Generalist's latest blog posting! He's got some great picts too!

Where the !@#! is our Panda Head?!?

Ok, who has our panda mascot head?! It got hijacked at the Comet Tavern last weekend! Normally I would be totally pissed off but that show rocked so much that I'm almost alright with it. Still, should of listened to TJ and left it in the van! Other then that lots of cool stuff has been happening! My friend Charlie who is some what of a superhuman when it comes to electronics modified my keytar to house the wireless transmitter inside! This will allow me to be more ridiculous onstage! Total keytar freedom!

With Folklife and the Laser Prom just around the corner, we are doing some things to prepare. This morning I got up at an ungodly hour and started working on a giant pandaconspiracy stencil to use for making some custom flags and other various things.

I'm taking an idea from co-conspirator Jenn Chung who made a smaller version for us out of cardboard. . . this one will be quite a bit bigger. .and I have to say it is WAY harder then I thought it would be.
Tracing the panda was easy but cutting out the cardboard was a pain in the ass! As I was starting to loose it, Alisa stepped in and helped cut out the Teeth.

Some of the lines got improvised a little bit but all in all I think it worked out great! After testing the stencil on an old drop cloth we went down to the fabric store and bought some black fabric to use for the final prints. Later on we will make a frame for them out of PVC and hopefully we'll have some strange creatures rocking the flags on stage with us next saturday!! This is going to be a busy week! 2 rehearsals, a meeting, a solo show, a panda show, not to mention ordering lasers, and finishing the flags!
